Tropical storm Eugene forms off Mexico's Pacific

MEXICO CITY - Tropical Storm Eugene formed off Mexico's Pacific coast on Sunday and was not expected to make landfall although forecast show it could reach hurricane strength mid-week, the National Hurricane Center said on Sunday.
Eugene was located 660 kilometers south of the popular Mexican beach resort of Acapulco and had maximum sustained winds of 65 km, the Miami-based center said.
There are currently no coastal watches and warnings in effect.
