At its peak, the Perseids can produce about 50 to 100 meteors per hour.
There are quite a few intriguing places to visit in Israel’s deserts, areas that once were barren but have been revitalized, thanks to the vision and determination of a few original thinkers.
The meteor, roughly 15.24 centimeters or six inches in size, is believed to be part of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower. Despite damage to the home, no injuries were reported.
NASA says the meteorites likely weigh as much as 322 grams each, but they could be larger. A local museum is offering $25,000 to whoever can find 1 kilogram.
The meteor in question struck the Earth near McAllen, Texas with the energy equivalent of 8 tons of TNT, but there were no reported casualties or damages.
