Kerry might very well be telling the truth. But he would do well to reflect on why accusations surrounding his attempts to undermine Israel, not to mention the US, are completely plausible.
It is plausible, alas, because deviousness characterizes Kerry and he has been willing to curry favor with adversaries to prove his own mighty wisdom, while punishing Israel.
There are real reasons to criticize Kerry, such as failing to predict the Abraham Accords and backing the Iran deal, but he probably doesn’t deserve the wrath he’s attracting over this Zarif quote.
It seems ridiculous that Zarif was unaware of the widely reported alleged Israeli airstrikes in Syria, begging the question why he's claiming he didn't know.
A number of Republicans expressed outrage at the allegations against Kerry, blasting the former secretary of state for allegedly leaking sensitive information.
The Iranian foreign minister complained about how he was forced to act for military interests instead of diplomatic ones.
"The Zionists want to take revenge because of our progress in the way to lift sanctions... We will not fall into their trap...We will not allow this act of sabotage to affect the nuclear talks."
For years, Turkey would say one thing to Moscow and Tehran while telling Washington’s Iran hawks that Turkey was “against Russia and Iran.”
“Time is running out for the Americans," said Iran's Foreign Minister Zarif.
Tehran wants to undermine US role in Kabul, promote Taliban as either rulers of Afghanistan or equals to gov’t
