Doctors demand PM intervene in crisis with Finance Ministry

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu must immediately intervene in the ongoing crisis between the Finance Ministry and the country's physicians that has resulted in months-long striking, representatives of the participating in the doctors' strike told Army Radio Tuesday.

Dr. Jonah Weisboch, chairman of the Association of Doctors Internisits, told Army Radio that the solution presented by the Finance Ministry does not address the fundamental problems plaguing the health care system.

Sanctions in the work dispute were stepped up earlier Tuesday, when all doctors and internists at Kfar Saba's Meir Medical center walked out, followed only a few hours later by doctors in the hospitals around the country including Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital and Haifa's Rambam Hospital.
