Police authorities said Saturday that the man behind the stabbing of a 68-year-old woman in Jerusalem late Friday night was an east Jerusalem resident of Arab descent. The man arrived at the woman's apartment in Jerusalem and demanded money from her. Upon her refusal, the man grabbed a knife from her kitchen and stabbed her in the back. Afterward, he tried to flee. Police arrested him late Friday night and he is awaiting trial.
Another man who was being held on suspicions that he may have been involved in the crime was released Saturday.
