Tunisian police fire tear gas at protesters

TUNIS — Police in Tunisia's capital have fired tear gas at hundreds of protesters complaining that the new interim government has too many old faces left over from the regime of ousted Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
The clashes occurred in front of the prime minister's office Wednesday, with some demonstrators responding by throwing stones at police.
The official TAP news agency said officials are preparing to announce changes to the interim government later Wednesday. The acting premier must replace five ministers who quit, echoing protesters' concerns. TAP said there will be other changes too, but it is unclear what they are and whether they will satisfy the crowds who have been protesting every day in Tunis.
