US Secretary of State Kerry meets with Abbas in Amman

US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday to discuss the resumption of the peace process, following the departure of President Barack Obama from the region, Israel Radio reported.

Kerry also met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, who expressed Jordan's willingness to host negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians should the two sides be interested.

Kerry was set to meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Saturday evening.
