The IDF has decided to renew searches for missing IDF soldier Guy Hever, Channel 2 reported Wednesday night, twelve years after he went missing in the Golan. The decision followed new information given to police and the army by tourists in the area, including evidence which has been sent for forensic examination. According to the report, Zaka rescue personnel and other officials will renew searches in the area on Thursday. Despite the new information, sources closes to the affair were quoted as saying that "the chances that Guy will be found are low." Hever was 20 when he went missing from his post in the southern part of the Golan Heights on August 17, 1997.
