An Israel Police officer has been lightly injured after a Palestinian at a police checkpoint at the Giti Avishar junction in the West Bank rammed his car into him after being ordered to stop for an inspection on Friday afternoon.
According to police reports, the vehicle came to a halt and when the police officer approached, the driver accelerated, ramming his car into the officer's leg before fleeing the scene.
The officer is being treated at the scene of the incident, and police are scanning the area for the attacker.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
