Home Front Command warns of all-out Middle East war

Home Front Commander Maj.-Gen. Eyal Eisenberg warned Monday that revolutions in the Arab world and the deterioration of ties with Turkey could spiral into a wider Middle East military conflict.
Eisenberg, who spoke at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, also said that only in the case where extreme circumstances take control, would a conflict probably result. But he did make mention of the deteriorating security situation on most of Israel's borders, including with Syria, the Sinai peninsula in Egypt, and in the Gaza Strip.
The Home Front Command general also made mention of the Iranian nuclear program, saying that Tehran had not given up in any way its desire to continue its nuclear aspirations.
