Lindenstraus says Danino not responsible for agents' deaths

State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss said Sunday that incoming police chief Cmdr. Yochanan Danino was not concretely responsible whitewashing police incompetence that led to the murders of two criminals turned police informers in 2006, saying instead that there was a "particularly disturbing phenomenon of mistrust between various police officials including those in the upper echelons of the force."
Lindenstrauss said that there was nothing in his findings that would prevent Danino from being appointed the new police chief, but that there is pressing need to fix the "organizational culture" of the police.
