TA Mayor says gov't creates distress

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai said on Tuesday that the government has failed the residents of Tel Aviv in its poor handling of the issue of refugees.
"Israel has created a situation where in certain places there is extreme hardship," Huldai said at a city council meeting in South Tel Aviv's Hatikva neighborhood. "Instead of preventing illegal immigration, they deal with it by expelling children."
City residents responded that Huldai could not shift responsibility for Tel Aviv's problems to the government as a whole.
