Two men shot dead in Taibe in suspected gangland hit

A drive-by shooting incident near the entrance to the city of Taibe on Wednesday was linked to an ongoing feud between the victims’ organization and the rival Hariri family, police spokesperson Micky Rosenthal said Thursday.
Two men were shot to death in the incident, when two men in a passing car opened fire on their vehicle. The victims, both of whom are members of the local Abed al-Kadr crime family, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
No suspects have been arrested in the shooting, and Rosenthal said police aren’t worried about a serious escalation in violence between the two families, rather, they are focusing on finding the shooters and maintaining the peace in the city.
