"Our powerful armed forces have no qualms about firing back with everything we have if we come under renewed attack," Araghchi wrote in his opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal.
“People are waiting for Trump, and if he does nothing, widespread hatred toward him will emerge among Iranians,” stated the rebel official from Iran's Interior Ministry.
“The Islamic Republic turned the streets into rivers of blood. No one has been able to show the depth of the crimes, because the regime shut down the internet," one anonymous citizen wrote.
Opening the discussions, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas complained that Iran’s internet blackout was an attempt by the regime to conceal “the scale of oppression."
What Trump will do if he decides to attack is far from clear, and whether he would succeed in toppling the regime is also a big question.
This follows a similar statement made by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who stated that "Any aggression against Khamenei is tantamount to all-out war against the Iranian nation."
Human rights groups warned the regime stepped up executions in response to the 2022 Women, Life, Freedom protests, which erupted in response to the regime’s murder of Mahsa Amini.
An Iranian official said authorities have verified at least 5,000 deaths in the protests, which are the biggest demonstrations since 2022, prompting UN rights chief Volker Turk to condemn violence.
"You are an anti-Iranian criminal,” the crown prince said. “You have neither honor nor humanity. Your hands are stained with the blood of tens of thousands of Iranians."
Afshin declared that "by order of the president, nationwide internet access will be restored from today to tomorrow and at the latest by the end of the week," which in Iran is on Friday.
