Heavy air pollution expected on Tuesday

The Environmental Protection Ministry warned that serious air pollution was expected Tuesday particularly during the afternoon to evening hours in most areas of the country. The heat wave which has hit the country also brings with it copious amounts of dust from north Africa.

In light of the expected pollution, the ministry advised those with heart or lung ailments, the elderly, children and pregnant women to avoid strenuous physical activity on Tuesday.

The ministry said it would update the public with data it received from its air monitoring stations.
