Venezuela to export gasoline to Iran

Venezuela has agreed to export 20,000 barrels of gasoline per day to Iran, aiding its defiance of Western threats to bar Iranian fuel imports if it does not suspend its uranium enrichment program. State TV said Monday the two countries signed an agreement during the visit to Iran of leftist Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez. Before his departure Sunday, Chavez and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad railed against the West, pledging to deepen their ties and stand together against the imperialistic world powers. While Iran has large oil reserves, it has limited refining capacity and so needs to import gasoline.
